Seveso 1976: Political, social and judicial consequences of a “disaster”
On July 10th, 1976, in Seveso happened a huge enviromental and human accident, that hit institutions hard in a delicate moment of Italian history. Some issues – as miscarriage and reclamation of the damaged area – threatened the thin politic balance, based on an agreement of “national solidarity” between DC and PCI. Seveso’s accident has been both a first step in building a green consciousness in Italy and a sign of the political dynamics of that period.
