Pseudo-metamorfosi e trasformazioni ingannevoli: novelle decameroniane tra magia e parola
L’articolo analizza le forme di reinterpretazione del motivo metamorfico all’interno del Decameron, focalizzandosi sul rapporto tra magia, ingegno e alterazione del reale. Si dimostra come Boccaccio, sfruttando la meta­morfosi in chiave ironica o parodica, la riduca a strumento di beffa, in particolare in contesti erotici, smascherando in questo modo la sua sostan­ziale falsità dell’elemento soprannaturale. Così, l’unica forma veramente efficace di metamorfosi è quella che risulta dall’ingegnoso sfruttamento della parola, in grado persino di riplasmare il reale.
Fake metamorphoses and deceiving transformations: Decameronian novel­las between magic and eloquence
Focusing on the relationship between magic, ingenuity, and the alteration of the reality, this essay analyses the reinterpretation of the classical metamor­phosis in the Decameron. Showing an ironic or parodic attitude, Boccaccio considers the metamorphosis as an instrument for practical jokes, in particu­lar in erotic contexts. In this way, supernatural powers prove to be intrinsi­cally deceptive. Indeed, the only effective form of metamorphosis springs from a smart employment of eloquence, which can even reinvent reality.
