The urban experience of women in the city of mexico: fear, politics and alternatives
This article explores the subjective experience of women when using and appropriating public space of Mexico City. Her testimony exposes the way in which fear impacts the way of transiting the space and contrasts with the actions that the government has implemented in recent years, to prevent and address violence against women in the city. The study is based on approaches of Participatory Action Research and together with an ethnographic work, it deepens in the subjectivity of women, who, by sharing their experience, interweave a collective experience that gives guidelines to the creation of spaces for reflection and implementation of alternatives, before a scenario of little effectiveness offered by government policies.
