Rosso di San Secondo and Luigi Pirandello undertake a Nordic “iter” towards Rome and Bonn without erasing the Sicilian alterity and peculiarities in their literary conscience. In both cases, internal chronotopic poles can be noticed as semantic and symbolic references to a geographical dualism, even if in different contexts. The essay deals with the novel La fuga, by Pier Maria Rosso di San Secondo, and the novella Lontano, by Luigi Pirandello.
