Il rapporto tra la cosiddetta “Quarta rivoluzione industriale” e l’occupazione è stato il tema del Secondo convegno internazionale ASTRIL. Questo rapporto può essere osservato attraverso la profonda trasformazione dei processi produttivi sia delle merci che dei servizi. Le conseguenze di tale trasformazione riguardano principalmente, sotto il profilo macroeconomico, il livello dell’occupazione e la distribuzione del reddito, mentre, sotto il profilo microeconomico, l’evoluzione delle tipologie lavorative, delle competenze e delle mansioni, le condizioni di lavoro e i diritti dei lavoratori. Le istituzioni del mercato del lavoro devono affrontare i problemi generati da queste profonde trasformazioni.

The relationship between the so-called “Fourth Industrial Revolution” and employment has been the object of the Second International ASTRIL Conference. This relationship can be observed through the deep transformation of the structure of production processes of both goods and services. Its consequences mainly affect, from a macroeconomic perspective, the employment level and income distribution, and, from a microeconomic perspective, the evolution of jobs, skills, and tasks, working conditions, and workers’ rights. Labour market institutions have to cope with the problems triggered by such deep changes.
